Dear UFRSD Families,
I will consistently take every opportunity to thank you for our partnership over the past few months. Thank you so much for the teamwork, community effort, and support! It continues to be greatly appreciated.
Recently, there have been a lot of questions and posts regarding “many courses being eliminated” at Allentown HS due to the budget. Please know, that many of the posts I saw were greatly exaggerated and in need of clarification. Knowing that we are all in this together and that communication is a key, I thought I would share the attached letter with you so that it will help bring some understanding to the budget and its impact on AHS. Here are a few highlights:
1) We have done a lot over the past decade to make AHS a competitive and comprehensive high school. AHS will be even better next year.
2) The district’s reduction is State Aid continues to be something we are fighting for in coordination with like districts.
3) The AHS administrative team has done great work to limit the impact of the budget cuts on our students.
For more details, please read the following letter – AHS Budget Letter.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out.
My best,
Mark Guterl
Superintendent of Schools
