Newell Elementary School Principal Kelly Huggins stepped back from her role to allow three terrific 4th graders to be Principals of the Day on Friday. Congratulations to Matthew McCormick, Connor Matwiow and Maddox Williams!

Principals for the Day: L to R: Matthew McCormick, Connor Matwiow and Maddox Williams
Principal Huggins delightfully shared her many tasks as Principal with her esteemed partners.

Superintendent Dr Fitzpatrick and Assistant Superintendent Mark Guterl proudly stand with their administrative team for the day.
“I had the pleasure of spending the day with Connor, Matthew and Maddox–NES 4th grade students who were Principals for a Day. They received this special day by participating and raising the most funds during our PTA Walk-a-Thon. We had a fun-filled day greeting students, making special announcements, attending important meetings, visiting classrooms and participating in a working lunch. They were very professional in all of their interactions!” Principal Huggins said.
What did the Principals of the Day think about their experiences?
“You have to be ready for challenges and it takes a lot of work throughout the day,” Connor said.
Matthew said, “It was pretty fun because I got to see things from a different point of view.”
“I liked eating donuts and learning how there are two sides to being a Newell Elementary School student,” Maddox said.
What a great way to recognize the fund raising efforts of the boys!
