FREEHOLD — The man wanted in connection with a Dec. 26, 2011, double shooting and stabbing in Allentown has been arrested, authorities said.
Brieon Thurston, 31, with a last known address of Hollywood Drive in Hamilton, was arrested May 16 at the XL Lounge in Newark. He was charged with of second-degree weapons offenses, possession of a handgun, possession of a handgun for an unlawful purpose, and fourth-degree aggravated assault. Thurston is believed to have fled the state and lived elsewhere since the incident that left two people hurt, according to a statement from the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office.
His brother, Neemiah Thurston, was arrested Dec. 30, 2011, shortly after the incident, according to the statement.
Brieon Thurston was taken to the Monmouth County Jail in Freehold Township on $100,000 bail, according to the statement.
The Prosecutor’s Office would not release any further details about the 2011 incident.
The Asbury Park Press asked the Prosecutor’s Office for a photo of the suspects, but they refused. State law allows authorities discretion in releasing suspect photos, but they often refuse to do so.
